  1. FlashPack 2.02Readme

  3. This README file is for FlashPack V2.02.  FlashPack V2.02 supports
  4. Palm Computing(r) OS 3.3.  
  5.  
  6. FlashPack Version 2 is a new commercial version of the FlashPack 
  7. freeware product that adds major new functionality and support.  
  8. The new functions added include:
  9.  
  10.   Support for any database, not just the Palm built-in databases.
  11.   New scheduling and preference options
  12.   Full commercial support by TRG Products
  13.

  15. *  INSTALLATION    *

  18. 1. If you have previously installed the freeware version of 
  19. FlashPack (Version 1),  you must completely delete every component
  20. of that freeware before installing FlashPack Version 2.  The database 
  21. formats changed significantly, and extremely serious problems arise 
  22. if the old code and databases are not first deleted.  All of the 
  23. following MUST be deleted before installation of FlashPack Version 2:
  24.  
  25.    All Flash or RAM backup databases created by FlashPack V.1, 
  26.       named "Backup xx of ....".  Note that is it not necessary to
  27.       delete the "backup of FlashPro" file.
  28.  
  29.    All prc programs for FlashPack and FlashRestore
  30.  
  31.    The Palm Launcher entry for FlashPack (if any remains after the above). 
  32.       From the main Palm menu, tap the sub-menu, then tap DELETE. 
  33.       If any FlashPack entries are in the list shown, delete them.

  36. 2. Installation for FlashPack, after the freeware FlashPack is removed 
  37. (if applicable) is just like any other Palm application.  Copy the 
  38. FlashPack V2.01 prc file to the appropriate PC directory, and perform 
  39. the Palm Desktop Install process for the FlashPack PRC.

  41. 3. Some users have experienced a conflict with the "Co-Launcher" freeware 
  42. program.  TRG has not performed testing on this product for compatibility
  43. with FlashPack or FlashPro.
